CEBU CITY, Philippines – The health worker from Talisay City, who earlier tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019, has already recovered from her infection and was already sent back home to her family.

Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas shared the “good news” in a Facebook post early this Sunday morning, May 17, 2020.

“I would like to announce that PT3 was tested by RT-PCR and confirmed as negative for COVID 19 twice,” Gullas said on FB.

PT3, he said, was already discharged from the hospital and was already allowed to go home to her family.

Although free of the infection, the health worker has opted to undergo home quarantine for another seven days before she will finally report back for work in a Cebu City hospital next week.

On Tuesday, Gullas also announced that PT3’s family members tested negative of the infection.

Meanwhile, Gullas said that they continue to wait for the result of the swab tests which they conducted since May 8 and which they submitted to the subnational laboratory that is located at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC).

“Hopefully good news lang ghapon toh,” Gullas said.

“Rest assured that your city is praying and hoping for the best, but we are also prepared for the worst.”

But while they wait for the test results, Gullas is asking his constituents to join him in praying for his city’s recovery from COVID-19.

“It’s actually a Sunday today, take this time to go to mass and pray for our city,” he said.

“PT3 has shown that one way or another, we can beat this together. While there will be new normals, a constant in this new normal should be our prayers. PT3 has beaten an unseen enemy with prayers,” Gullas added.
