The University of Cebu (UC) – Banilad Campus will play host to the fourth leg of Startup Weekend Cebu (SWC) slated on June 6, 7 and 8, at 6:30PM to 10PM.
Everyone who are willing to build up businesses, aspiring marketers and passionate entrepreneurs whether with technical or non-technical background, from students to professionals to retired persons who have a passion to build a business or desire to learn how, or anyone who are established business persons looking for technology partners are encouraged to be part of the community of startup enthusiasts, who gather together to share ideas, form teams, build products, and launch start-ups.
The 54-hour event starts with an “open mic” pitching of business ideas on Friday night, wherein attendees are urged to bring out their ideas and inspire others who are present to join or make their team. Each team should focus on customer development, validating their ideas, practicing LEAN Startup Methodologies and building a minimal viable product over Saturday and Sunday. Afterwards, on Sunday evening, teams turn their ideas into prototypes, and demo it for presentation to receive valuable feedback from a panel of experts.
Last year’s SWC3 winners included 1st place winner Edroll, 2nd place winner BloodMatch and 3rd place winner At Your Service Bai.
Organizers of SWC anticipate a more productive and exciting field for the participants joining the three-day event. Organized by high-profiled volunteers from TechTalks.ph, a SEC-registered non-profit of business, which provides opportunities for training and connection with the right resources to help the Philippine grassroots community become more globally competitive.

Rica Ruth Serenio is this year’s SWC lead organizer, who is the Co-founder of Offshore Consultancy and Business Services and a senior member of Techtalks.ph, and an Alumni and Winner of Startup Weekend Cebu 3.
