CEBU CITY, Philippines — Police in Balamban, Cebu are looking into a possibility that love triangle was the motive in the killing of a faith healer on Tuesday dawn, September 22, 2020.

Dionesio Candia Otapil, a 48-year-old faith healer, was shot by still unidentified assailants while he was back riding on a motorcycle along a stretch of road in Sitio Lacdon in Barangay Prenza.

Otapil, a resident of Barangay Vito of the town, died on the spot after he was shot multiple times by the assailants.

The driver of the motorcycle, identified as his cousin, Vingie Otapil Candia, sustained injuries from stray bullets.

According to Police Major Christian Torres,  initial investigation revealed that Otapil was involved with women, some of whom were married.

Torres added that Otapil had reportedly many partners, one in Zamboanga, one in Cebu, and one abroad.

For now, police said they will be looking into this angle as the motive as it is said to be the one that stands out the most based on their investigation. /bmjo
