Chan: Lapu-Lapu City gov’t willing to give Oponganon singer P50K
Mayor answers singer’s call for financial aid for singing competition trip to US
LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines — The Lapu-Lapu City government is willing to give at least P50,000 assistance to an Oponganon singer, who is raising funds for her expenses in the upcoming World Championship of Performing Arts competition at the United States of America July to August 2021.
Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan said that the city would be willing to give assistance to any Oponganon who would give pride to the city.
Chan said that the city could shoulder at least a minimum of P50,000 for Charity Ann Amit, a 31-year-old Oponganon singer, who is holding a fundraising drive online for her upcoming singing journey to the U.S.
Amit is targeting to raise P72,054.90.
Chan said Amit could visit his office so that he could facilitate her request for assistance.
“Anyone nga maghatag ug dungog sa siyudad, atong tabangan,” Chan said.
(We will help anyone who can give pride and honor to the city.)
Through her online fundraising drive, Amit appealed to the public to heed her call for financial assistance.
“I am humbly asking for your help to be one of sponsors to provide for all my expenses all through out my journey. I need you help to make my dream come true,” Amit’s post reads.
“Any amount would be highly appreciated Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart,” the post added.
Amit told CDN Digital that she already needed the amount, since its deadline is on February 26, 2021.
That amount will only cover her hotel acommodation.
“Ang tanan gyud nakong bayrunon is P250,000. Apil na na ang plane ticket nako,” she added.
(All my expenses for the trip is P250,000. That includes the plane ticket.)
