MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – Weather may have already improved this Monday, February 15, but Danao City officials are asking their constituents to continue their vigilance.

“Bisan pa man nigawas na ang haring adlaw ug nihunong ang pag-uwan karong buntag, magpadayon gihapon ta sa pagkamabinantayon sa palibot. Humok pa ang yuta ug posible nga aduna gihapon pagdahali o pagbanlas sa yuta,” the city’s advisory reads.

(Even if we now have sunlight and raining has stopped this morning, we have to continue to observe our surroundings. The soil remains soft and prone to erosion.)

On Sunday, rockfall was reported in Sitio Langob in Barangay Guinacot at 9:10 p.m.

The affected portion of the barangay road was immediately cordoned while clearing operation was implemented.

At around 5:32 p.m., soil erosion was also reported in Sitio Timbangan in the same barangay.

Personnel of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted site inspection and advised owners of nearby homes to evacuate.
