LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines – The Lapu-Lapu City Government will start distributing this week leaflets containing information on the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine.

Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan said that they will be printing around 100,000 copies of the leaflets, to encourage Oponganons to participate in the government’s vaccination drive.

Chan showed a copy of the leaflets, wherein it answers common questions from the public about the vaccine.

“Naga-ingon kasagarang pangutana kabahin sa bakuna. Unya naa pod diri ang mga questions, unsay kasagarang pangutana, unsa ang bakuna? nganong kinahanglang magpabakuna? kinsa ang prayoridad nga bakunahan? Naa diri ang mga prayoridad,” Chan said.

Chan hopes that the material would help Oponganons to ease their doubts and to decide, whether they will take the vaccine or not.

Aside from this, the city has also hired tricycle drivers to conduct recorida on the COVID-19 vaccination, under their cash-for-work program.

Each tricycle driver will receive P500 per day, wherein they will work for 10 days.

“Duna ta’y mga tricycle nga motuyok nga magdala ug trumpa, dunay sound system, nga dunay recorded na daan nga naghisgot parte sa bakuna,” he added.

Earlier, Chan announced that he is willing to be immunized with the COVID-19 vaccines, to encourage Oponganons to have themselves vaccinated too. /rcg
