CEBU CITY, Philippines—The 69th Miss Universe competition pageant finally has a date and venue.
The Miss Universe organization announced on Wednesday that the event will be held on May 16 (Sunday, 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time — Monday morning, May 17 in the Philippines) in Hollywood, Florida, USA.
The most coveted tilt will be aired live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in more than 160 territories and countries across the globe.
The event was supposed to take place from fall/winter 2020 but was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A video teaser on the upcoming pageant was also posted in their official account on Instagram.
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo will represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant.
Mateo will try to become the fifth Filipina to capture the Miss Universe crown after Catriona Gray (2018), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margie Moran (1973) and Gloria Diaz (1969).
South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi was the last to have been crowned during the 68th annual Miss Universe Pageant last December 8, 2019 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.
