Mandaue City again breaches 1K-mark in active cases

MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – Mandaue City again breached the 1, 000-mark for active cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The city reported a total of 1, 014 active cases as of Saturday, March 12, with Barangay Subangdaku having the most number of active cases that totals to 126.

Barangay Cabancalan is second on its list with 62 active cases followed by Pagsabungan with 60, data released by the Mandaue City Public Information Office show.

The city has so far logged a total of 4, 637 cases of which 3, 428 have already recovered while 185 were reported to have died of the infection.

It was in July 2020 when the city first breached the 1K-mark for active cases.  The city’s infections has been on a downtrend since.  But it again started to increase after the Christmas holidays.
