Lawyer who filed cases against Binay in Cebu, vow to add more
LAWYER Renato Bondal threatened to file six more cases against Vice President Jejomar Binay for implementing “questionable” projects in Makati City when he was still mayor.
Bondal said his other complaints would center on the construction of the Makati Friendship Hotel, the purchase of multicabs that were given out to local government units (LGUs) outside of Makati City and other city infrastructure projects.
“We are getting data from experts to bolster our complaint. For the others its all documentary works. Why file in lumpsum? It’s a matter of our choice,” said Bondal who was a guest in yesterday’s 888 news forum in the Marco Polo Plaza in Cebu City.
Bondal denied speculations that he is on a roadshow to discredit Binay, who announced plans to run for president in the 2016 election.
“If I’m on a roadshow I could have brought members of my legal team, but I came only with my wife and my 2-year old daughter,” Bondal said.

Binay’s accuser was in Cebu yesterday to attend a the media forum and give updates on the plunder case he filed against Binay for the construction of an 11-story Makati Parking Building, which he claimed is overpriced by P1.3 billion.
He said he would also visit his good friend businessman Miguel Juan del Gallego who consulted him several times on the case of Paco Larrañaga, one of the convicts in the Chiong sister rape and murder.
Bondal also asked his critics to name politicians whom they think are helping in his case against the vice president.
“In so far as the national figure, they are not naming names so I could not confirm who it is,” Bondal said.
Bondal said he uses resources from his law firm in the preparation of documents on his plunder case.

He even spent his own money for his airfare to Cebu yesterday. “I am not attached to any established political party,” he said.
Also included in the plunder complaint were his son and now mayor Erwin Binay and Makati city councilors.
Bondal said if the total project cost of P1.56 billion is divided among the structure’s 11 floors, each floor would cost P157 million.
The project will end up more expensive than the 47-story high Marco Polo Hotel in Manila which cost P2.7 billion or only P57 million per floor.
