More supply of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines arrive in Cebu

CEBU CITY, Philippines—Central Visayas received additional supply of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines. 

At least 51,480 doses of the US-manufactured vaccine brand arrived at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) on Monday evening, July 26, 2021, the Visayas Vaccination Operations Center (VVOC) confirmed. 

“51,480 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech arrived last night,” said Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, VVOC spokesperson. 

Loreche said they will announce the breakdown of the allocation in the coming days. 

Central Visayas has already received over 1 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines from different brands.

The region began the rollout of the vaccines last March.
