Cebu City’s finest, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, was recently awarded as the 2013 Hotel of Year, besting all other Marco Polo Hotels.
In the recently held 2014 General Managers Conference in HongKong Marco Polo Area GM for the Philippines Hans Hauri received the award from MPH President Eric Waldburger.
The Hotel of the Year award is given to the hotel that exemplifies excellence in guest service, operational standards, associate management and financial results. Marco Polo Plaza Cebu has demonstrated this to its guests by providing excellent service, passion and heart even in the midst of the calamities the Visayas experienced last year.
Marco Polo Hotels President Eric Waldburger had only words of praise for the Philippine-based property: “Marco Polo Plaza Cebu displayed a consistent distinction in service and quality and deserved the 2013 Hotel of the Year award, as it set the standards for our entire company. I would like to congratulate Hans Hauri and his team for a successful and prosperous year.”
Hans describes their recognition as “a true reflection of the Cebuano’s outgoing attitude, well-known friendliness and hard work balanced with fun loving. Our stakeholders confidence through new investments to keep the hotels facilities at the leading edge of the hotel industry are added dimensions to the Hotel of the Year.”
This is the second time Marco Polo Plaza Cebu has been awarded the Hotel of the Year award. The hotel also received the Hotel of the Year award in 2006, the year it opened.
