Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale will lead the province’s delegation in the East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Forum (EATOF) general assembly that will be held in Malaysia from Sept. 4 to 6.

Joining Magpale are Board Member Grecilda “Gigi” Sanchez and provincial tourism officer Mary Grace Paulino. They left for Kuching, the capital city of Sarawak state in Malaysia yesterday.

Board Member Julian Daan will take over as acting vice governor in Magpale’s absence.

The delegates from the 12 member provinces will convene today with a welcome dinner for the delegations.

Aside from the assembly’s sessions, the representatives will also tour Kuching and observe their best practices on tourism management.

These include a dinner cruise on Sayang Sarawak, food festival and local handicrafts exhibition, regatta and dragon boat competition, a visit to Semenggok Wildlife Center and the Sunday market.

Cebu hosted the EATOF general assembly in 2000 with the more recent one in 2011 during the administration of former governor and now Rep. Gwendolyn Garcia.
