Aegis Vipers earn piece of division 1 lead in E-League hoop

The defending champions Aegis Vipers earned a piece of the lead while the Convergys-1 Wolves snapped a two-game slide after they scored separate wins in the Division 1 action of the 10th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball at the CSC-C Gym.

The Vipers posted a 78-61 hammering of the Supportsave Dragons, tying the Accenture Sharks at the top of Division I with similar 8-1 (win-loss) records.
Ryan Veloso led the way for the Vipers with 25 points, while Rodulfo Enterina III and Kevin Clark Navaja added 13 apiece.

Niño Belande fired 26 markers, Edmon Paradian had 13 points and Dave Villas tallied 11 in the Dragons’ fourth loss in 10 games.
The Wolves, on the other hand, got back on track by blasting the Calltek Trojans, 67-41.

Fritz Eduard Malinao was the lone double-digit scorer for Convergys-1 with 10 points but he had six teammates scoring at least six points as the Wolves improved to 7-3.
Al Jairro Magsanay finished with 20 points for the Trojans, who tasted their eighth defeat in 10 games.

Also scoring a win in Division 1 were the Lexmark Stallions, who downed the Telstra Boomerangs, 58-50.

Franco Angelo Cipriano led the Jose Felix Cleopas-coached Lexmark with 15 points. Niel Tiempo added 13 in the Stallions’ sixth victory against three losses.
Sam Jordan Hermosa scattered 17 markers, Jake Antig Cainday netted 12 and Jann Claud Mission pitched in 10 but their efforts weren’t enough as the Boomerangs succumbed to their seventh loss in 10 games.

In the lone Division 2 game, the Sykes Pioneers blasted the Teletech Titans, 59-48, for their fourth win in 10 matches.

Gerald Bien Galarido and Frederick Monteliban topped the Pioneers with 14 points, while Rey Louie Lepardo contributed 13.

Teletech, which slid to 4-7, was led by Jonas Concepcion and Jaygard Vios with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
