Police rounded up 15 women and a man from Juana Osmeña St. and the whole stretch of Gen. Maxilom Ave. last Tueday evening.

Supt. Romeo Santander, chief of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB), said they received reports that the group were allegedly involved in the sex trade and had allegedly stolen valuables from potential customers.

The operation was conducted alongside officers from the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD).
Santander said the women and the man would stand along the road waiting for foreigners to approach them.

They will then divert the attention of foreigners to get a chance to steal the foreigners’ valuables.

They had also victimized construction workers, said Santander.
