By: Norman V. Mendoza September 12,2014 - 08:02 AM

Three fishermen were arrested by Lapu-Lapu City’s Task Force Kalikasan for using dynamite in fishing at the seawaters off Olango island yesterday morning.

Renato Udto, 52, Ramilito Udto, 40, and Renero Siton, 39, all of barangay Pangan-an, were caught in the act of using improvised explosives while onboard their paddle boat. Police were on patrolwhen they heard a dynamite blast about a kilometer away from them.

Police seized three paddle boats, two bottles of improvised explosives, three improvised fins, goggles and two kilograms of fish. PO3 Kent Licen, who led the team, said the destruction of sea corals in Pangan-an is clearly visible under the pristine waters.
