CCPO’s random drug tests results to be out soon

CEBU CITY, Philippines—The results of the random drug tests conducted by the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) will be sent today, March 4, 2022.

“Wala pa diha ang in charge but the official report will be sent karon.” explained by the deputy city director for operations, Police Lieutenant Colonel Wilbert Parilla.

Parilla mentioned last Monday, February 28, that there were six cops who failed to appear for a surprise drug test on February 27. Those who failed to provide valid reason for their absence will be subjected to administrative investigation.

Parilla clarified, however, that four of the six personnel were in court at the time and were able to complete their drug tests on that day.

Meanwhile, the two remaining cops who failed to show up for their drug tests were also in Sibonga undergoing training.

When asked if this will be the last time they do unannounced drug tests, Parilla said there will be more.

“There will be a series of drug tests and the same will be random because it is part of our internal cleansing. All personnel should undergo drug tests every year” he said.

On top of that, he cautions Cebu City police officers to stay away from drug-related activities and even illegal gambling.

“Avoid nga ma implicate or even using drugs and even gani ang pagka involve sa illegal gambling is already an administrative offense. How much more if they will be found out positive on drugs” said Parilla.

The Philippine National Police’s internal cleansing program is an effort to promote transparency and accountability in public service.
