A 50-year-old man was killed after a rock fell on him, pinning him down in a quarry in barangay Basak, Compostela town, northern Cebu.
Police identified the fatality as Emmanuel Pareja Parcon, whose right leg was severed from his body.
“The rock that hit the victim was as big as a sack of rice,” said PO3 Michael Magallon of the Compostela Municipal Police Office.
Police said the victim was working on the quarry site that he owned at the foot of a hill.
