It starts with the company’s glass-fibre reinforced cement, which it calls PietroForm. Weighing 75 percent less than traditional concrete, the material is rustproof, fireproof, frost proof and free of petrochemicals.
Next, each product is individually hand finished. Reactive oxides create coatings that last longer than paint, stains or dyes. No two pieces are identical. Retailers are presented with a choice of many colors and two finishes. Secondary color coatings recreate metal finishes reminiscent of copper, bronze and iron artifacts.
