CEBU CITY, Philippines — Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, on Monday, bared additional names of the City department and office heads who would retain their current position under his new term.

Rama’s City administrator Engineer Ma. Suzanne Ardosa made the announcement of the names of the City Hall employees, who were appointed as heads and in charge of the various offices, commissions, and departments of the city government, after a flag raising ceremony held at Plaza Sugbo on Monday, July 4, 2022.

“Part lang gihapon ni sa atong padayon nga pag-implement sa giingon ni Mayor nga Serious, Significant, Changes (SSC). So, sa atong nahibaw-an niaging semana naa na tay mga…It’s my responsibility to have the appropriate documentation parts sa atoang changes or movements sa atong mga personnel,” Ardosa said.

(This is part of our continuing implementation on what the mayor said were serious, significant and changes (SSC). So as far as wha we know this past week, we have these…it’s my responsibility to have the appropriate documentation parts of our changes or movements of our personnel.)

Dr. Jeffrey Ibones will retain his current position as head of the Cebu City Health Department (CCHD) while Jonah John Rodriguez will still head the Cebu City Office for Substance Abuse and Prevention (COSAP).

The following are the appointed heads and in charge of the various offices and departments of the Cebu City Hall:

  • Dr. Jeffrey Ibones- CCHD
  • Dr. Jessica Maribojoc-Department of Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries (DVMF)
  • Liezl Calamba-City Assessors Office
  • Cerwin Eviota- Public Information Office (PIO)
  • Dante Arcilla Jr. – Division on the Welfare of the Urban Poor (DWUP)
  • Ijoden Mamacol- Office of the Muslim Affairs
  • Melissa Dela Cruz- Local School Board (LSB)
  • Atty. Jade Ponce – Executive Director, Land Management Office
  • Alberto Vestil III- Executive Director, Port San Pedro
  • Allan Bautista – Cebu City Resource Management and Development Center (CREMDEC)
  • Jonah John Rodriguez – COSAP
  • Jovito Taborada Jr. – Executive Director, Cebu City Sport Sports Commission (CCSC)
  • Judy Concepcion Navarrete – Scholarship Committee
  • Paolo Saberon – Executive Director, Cebu City Youth Development Commission (CCYDC)
  • Pastor Alcover II – Executive Director, Peace and Order Program (POP)
  • Karla Paula Ammann – Executive Director of the Sister Cities Program
  • Cinbeth Orellano – head, protocol officer
  • Engineer Joel Biton -OIC Assistant Dept. head of Department of General Services

Ardosa said another batch of appointees would be announced in the coming days pending signature of Rama on their appointment papers.

“Di sad ni final pa. Naa pa say laing mosunod na batch kay ubay ubay man ni and HR is still preparing. So, grupo ni,” she said.

(This is not final yet. There are still another batch that will follow because there are a lot of them and HR is still preparing. So, this is a group.)

“Katong mga designated nga mga officer-in-charge whose appointments or designations, atong gihimoan og bag-ong order so that they will continue to be the Officer-in-Charge. Until when? Sama sa giingon ni Mayor nga we will never know. It can be three months, it can be six months. It can be more, depending on our performance,” she added.

Rama also announced on Monday that he appointed Ret. General Debold Sinas as a member of Cebu City Advisory Board. Sinas is tasked to oversee the peace and order concerns of the city under Rama’s term.
