Rama: Have a safe ‘kalag-kalag’

Don’t bring a lot of cash. Avoid wearing jewelry.
And don’t leave your household unattended when you step out to visit graves of your beloved dead.
Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama gave these reminders as thousands flock to cemeteries today and tomorrow for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day locally called “Kalag kalag”.
“Please don’t attract those who want to take advantage. Take care of your abode and don’t leave it without anyone watching it,” Rama advised.
He said City Hall will have a skeletal force in frontline offices handling traffic, markets, and public services.
He also reminded Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Director Noli Romana and the police force to remain vigilant.
“Noli Romana has to be overseeing all and be mindful that when the cat is away, the mouse will play,” he said.
The mayor will be visiting different cemeteries in the city today to check on crowd flow and safety.
One thousand personnel and barangay tanods will reinforce policemen watching the e different cemeteries in the city, said Councilor Dave Tumulak, chief of the City Command Control Center.
Ten ambulances will be stationed near cemeteries.
