A spinner dolphin found at the shore in barangay Jubay, Liloan town in northern Cebu Sunday afternoon died at 4 p.m. yesterday.

Dr.  Jennefe Cabarubias, veterinarian of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-7, said she found no wound or bruises on the four foot dolphin.

“Walay samad (No injuries). Apparently healthy but weak, dili mo-float,” Dr. Cabarubias said. Cabarubias said she fed the dolphin with fish and helped it float with a life jacket.

She also took a blood sample from the dolphin, which she believed had bacterial or viral infection.
