The accident occurred at 10:30 a.m. in sitio Lakaron.

PO3 Julius Caesar Parages, investigator of the Carcar City Police Office, said the accident occurred when Charles Recana, the 56-year-old driver of the boom truck owned by PLD Construction, tried to avoid a car in front which he said suddenly stopped.

He said he tried to  avoid the car by swerving to the opposite side of the road and ended up colliding with the Sunrays Bus driven by Hermolito Pellago, 32.

The truck was headed for Aloguinsan town while the bus was bound for Cebu City.

The accident caused heavy traffic in the area after the truck blocked the road. It was around 2 p.m. when the truck was removed from the accident site.

Police said Recana was pinned in the driver’s seat. His companions Henry Manugat, 28; Jeffrey Baya, 27; Nador Labiano, 42; and Leonel Torima, 43; sustained minor injuries and were taken to South General Hospital in the City of Naga.
