A 63-year-old woman was stabbed three times by her own son in sitio Manggahan, barangay Poblacion, Pinamungajan town, early yesterday morning.
Ruperta Cañete Fajardo was boiling water in the kitchen when her son Sergio, 28, approached her with an empty wine bottle.
Police said Sergio is said to be suffering from a mental condition.
Sergio hit their wall with the bottle and stabbed his mother in the thigh, knee, and elbow.
His brother Samuel, 23, heard the commotion, rushed to his mother’s aid and called the police for help.
Fajardo was taken to the Pinamungajan District Hospital.
