The time has come for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to shine with the official launch of StartUp Market at SM Seaside City Cebu last November 11, 2022. This project is a nationwide initiative by SM Supermalls, with the intention to empower small businesses by giving them the opportunity to let their brands be known to SM Supermall’s mall-goers.
“SM Supermalls believes in the power, drive, and passion of our MSMEs.” Regional Mall Manager – Visayas 2 Antonio Jayme del Prado said in his opening remarks. He further highlighted the importance of this initiative to SM Supermalls by reminiscing on SM’s humble beginnings as a small business as well.
The StartUp Market initiative wishes to help MSMEs grow and reach new heights. These MSMEs are those who currently do not have stores inside malls or have their own brick & mortar shops. The StartUp Market package for MSMEs includes start-up friendly rates, free use of kiosks, free brand exposure (both online and inside the mall), financial assistance from BDO, and mentorship from SM Supermall’s marketing and operations experts.
