NEW YORK (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 6.0 underwater quake has struck off east Indonesia, but no tsunami warnings have been posted.
U.S.G.S. said the quake occurred early Sunday local time (2205 GMT Saturday) with its epicenter 138 miles (222 kilometers) north-northwest of Samulaki in Indonesia’s eastern Maluku province.
U.S.G.S. says the quake’s depth was measured at 73 miles (117 kilometers).
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says no tsunami warnings are in effect.
