By: Michelle Joy L. Padayhag January 12,2015 - 11:07 AM

A workshop and dialogue covering the implementation of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project will be held today at the regional Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH-7) office.

The workshop will be participated by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) board headed by LTFRB chairman Winston Ginez, the planning department of DPWH-7, Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama, transport groups and other stakeholders.

LTFRB board member Antonio Enrile Inton said part of the discussions for the BRT project are measures and options.

The BRT project is expected to start within this year. Former Cebu City mayor Tomas Osmeña is the proponent of the project.

The LTFRB will also announce today the approval of the P7 fare rate for passenger jeepneys in Central Visayas and the January 16 public hearing for the flagdown rate for taxis.
