US fugitive falls in Cebu
An American who is wanted in the US for his alleged involvement in multiple criminal cases including the abuse of minors and kidnapping was arrested yesterday in an apartment in barangay Sambag 1, Cebu City.
Shikeb Saddozai, 37, was arrested after a warrant of deportation issued by the Bureau of Immigration was served to him by a joint police team from the Regional Intelligence Division and the Cebu City police Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit.
A BI official was also present in the operation.
Saddozai managed to elude previous attempts to arrest him, said Senior Supt. Conrad Capa, deputy director for operations of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7).
In November last year, Saddozai eluded agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) by leaping from the third floor of an apartment in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City
“That is why we sent policemen who would be able to control and neutralize him for the arrest. He resisted violently. That’s why we asked the assistance of SWAT,” he said.
Saddozai is facing a string of charges including forcible sex acts with a minor, kidnapping, false imprisonment and sexual battery.
He also has a pending case for assaulting a US Marshal.
Capa said they will check his laptop computer and cellular phones to determine if he was engaged in cyberpornography since he arrived in Cebu in August last year.
Capa said police are awaiting instructions from tUhe BI on how to deal with the suspect.
Saddoza is detained at the Fuente Police Station.
