Ateneo de Cebu takes on Linao National High School in NBTC Visayas Regional Finals
The Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles will try to take the next step in their bid to become national champions once again as they take on Ormoc’s Linao National High School St. Mark Warriors in the Visayas Regional Finals of the National Basketball Training Center tournament today at the SHS-AdC basketball courts along Mango Avenue.
The Eagles booked their place in the regionals with a comprehensive 110-75 thumping of the University of the Visayas Baby Lancers in the Cebu finals a few weeks ago.
The Warriors of head coach Jonathan Basmayor advanced after a 48-45 victory over rivals St. Peter’s College in the Ormoc finals last month.
Expected to spearhead the visitors’ charge will be Dave Donasco and Ormoc leg MVP Christian Bolano, who had 15 and 12 points, respectively, during their leg finals.
The Magis Eagles will be a tough nut to crack as they go to battle armed with their formidable frontline composed of reigning Cesafi and NBTC Cebu MVP Janjan Jaboneta, University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers recruit Zachy Huang and 6-foot-4 Fil-Australian sensation Joshua Sinclair.
The winner of this game will head on to the national finals slated next month.
