PAUL Martin Gabatan came up with another solid all-around game and this time it translated into a victory as he lifted Batch ’90s/2001-AJL Surplus to a 75-65 win over Batch 1996-Blakeley’s Motorcare last Tuesday in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 14th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.
Gabatan fired a game-high 22 points, hauled down 10 rebounds and scattered five assists, two blocked shots and two assists as Batch ’90s/2001 made it to the win column after a faulty start. The team suffered a 66-68 loss to Batch 1995-La Nueva Pharmacy in its first game with Gabatan scoring 32 points.
In the other game, Batch ‘86/90S/2000 likewise barged into the win column by edging out Batch 1995, 69-67.
Aljhune Areja paced Batch 86/90S/2000 (1-1) with 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.
