SUGBU Triathlon will spearhead two sporting events in northern Cebu later this month.
First off will be the annual Bantayan Beach Games that will be featuring six sporting events on March 29 to April 5. The other is the Fantastic Medellin Triathlon Cup 2015 on April 19.
The Medellin event is held in line with the celebration of the town’s annual fiesta. The standard race will be a 1.6-kilometer swim, 60k bike and 15k run event.
“This race is perfect to prepare our local triathletes for bigger races ahead this year,” said Medellin Triathlon coordinator Jon Inot in the launching yesterday at the Fuente Pension House.
Joining Inot in yesterday’s launching were Sugbu Triathlon’s Benjoe Gimenez, Anton Regis and Jerome Mil, who will handle the Bantayan Beach Games.
Aside from the standard distance, there will also be sprint, super sprint and relay categories.
Early bird registration started yesterday. Registration fee in the early bird promo is P2,500 for the standard distance, P2,000 for the sprint and super sprint distance and P1,500 per member of each relay team. Regular rates will be applied starting March 25. The rates are P3,000 for the standard distance, P2,500 for the sprint and super sprint and P2,000 for the relay.
