Five more residents of Subayon, Toledo were brought to the Toledo City Hospital after showing symptoms associated with typhoid fever.

Subayon barangay chairman Florante Lariba said the five residents raised the number of patients showing similar symptoms to 28.

The youngest patient is a two-month old daughter of resident Robert Gomez while the oldest is a woman in her 40s.

The Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU) and the Regional Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (RESU) are continually monitoring the patients who were given IVs.

Five gallons of mineral water were given to 15 households in barangay Subayon.
