BATCH 1995-La Nueva Pharmacy moved up to joint second place after it pulled off a 61-56 win over Batch 1987/2000s-Vancere Toys last Tuesday in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 14th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.
Behind Donald Anthony Ting’s 30-point explosion, Batch 1995 snatched its fifth win in six games that allowed them to tie Batch ‘80s/‘90s/2011-Koi Herbal in the team standings.
Raymond Gollon and Erwin Kenneth Ong backed Ting with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Harold James Tan finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds, a solid double-double that wasn’t enough to save Batch 1987/2000s from tasting its fifth loss in six outings.
In the other game, Rex Allinson fired 18 points, Bryan Renejane netted 14, Dreyfus Ang scored 13 and Shan Wang tallied 10 as they powered Batch 1996-Blakeley’s Motorcare to a 76-64 win over Batch ‘86/‘90s/2000s.
It was Batch 1996’s fourth victory in six starts. Batch ‘86/‘90s/2000s, dropped to 4-2 (win-loss).
