The Cebu City Schools Division of the Department of Education (DepEd-7) is suggesting a re-computation of grades of the top two Grade 4 students of Zapatera Elementary School.
Acting City Division Superintendent Danilo Gudelosao said this should clear doubts as to who topped the class.
In a Facebook post, Cielito Aldemita, a parent of one of the pupils in Zapatera Elementary School showed a photo of her son James’ report card showing erasures in his grades for the subject Makabayan from the first grading period until the final grading period.
Aldemita claimed this was done to accommodate a “pet” student for the top spot in class.
