Sixteen years after opening The Leisure Spa, their first investment in the wellness industry, the Dychangco Group of Companies has put in P3 million more to make it a one-stop shop for beauty and wellness.
Holly Dawn Dychangco, The Leisure Spa and The Lab’s chief executive officer, said that aside from the spa, they have added a salon, a gym and a health food counter at Dolce Cafe, which serves healthy salads.
The facility has a total area of 800 square meters, with spa and barber services, a full service gym with steam and sauna, a colonistic machine for colon cleansing, and the spa itself which offers a custom brand of organic homemade massage oils.
The Leisure Spa, which is located at the family’s property at D’Address in Nivel Hills, Lahug, Cebu City, has been operating since 2008.
Before that The Leisure Spa was operating in Banilad for 10 years.
Dychangco said the family had planned to close the spa but later decided to add features to participate in the growing beauty and wellness market in Cebu.
Based on The Global Spa and Wellness Economy Monitor, the industry has generated $94 billion in 2013, a large jump from only $60 billion reported in 2007.
ONE-STOP SHOP
“What we have now is a one-stop beauty and wellness facility that aims to stimulate the locals’ quest for a healthier and more beautiful lifestyle at an affordable price that really suits the Cebuano’s idea of pampering,” said Dychangco in an interview.
More people are health conscious and want to avail of services in a single location.
“Here we offer a complete package. We even have packages for the kids in the salon and the spa. Moms and kids can pamper themselves at the spa and the salon while the dads can sweat it out at the gym. Later, they can have a healthy meal at Dolce where we offer ‘healthy eats’ to complement the lifestyle,” she said.
Cebu’s fast growing economy has also created higher paying jobs for people who can afford to pamper themselves.
AFFORDABLE RATES
“The Lab, which is the salon, uses high quality beauty products for adults and kids, while The Leisure Spa offers affordable full body massage,” said Dychangco.
Day use of the gym is available for P150. Dychango said they also offer weekly, monthly and annual packages at affordable rates.
