Taxi passenger robbed in Guadalupe, 2 suspects nabbed, 1 still hunted
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Two of the three men, who allegedly robbed a passenger getting off a taxi in Barangay Guadalupe on Sunday morning, December 17, 2023, were arrested at least 8 hours later in the barangay.
Authorities arrested 38-year-old Ian Gabutin Lequin and 26-year-old Carlo Arriosa Risu-or at past 2 p.m. on Sunday after eyewitness recognized the suspected robbers.
The third robber, who remains at large, is identified as a certain “Wando,” who is 27 years old.

How taxi passenger was robbed
According to the police investigation, the victim was getting out of a taxi by the side of the road after arriving at his destination when three men suddenly approached the vehicle.
The suspects then robbed the victim and took away his wallet with P500 cash inside, an ID, an ATM card, and a mobile phone worth P16,000.
An eyewitness to the crime recognized the suspected robbers, which helped the police in the arresting the two suspects.

Culprits of taxi passenger robbery identified
Police in a statement said that the three suspects were positively identified as the culprits and were reportedly residents of Sitio Green Village in Barangay Guadalupe.
As of this writing, the arrested persons are detained at the Guadalupe Police Station pending for the filing of appropriate charges against them.
According to police, charges of robbery have been filed against Lequin and Risu-or.
