Miller looks to do better in Xterra Asian Tour today
AFTER two close calls, Joseph Lumagod Miller, the country’s lone professional off-road triathlete hopes to finally score a podium finish in today’s third and final race of the XTerra Asian Tour Championships in Langkawi, Malaysia.
Miller, 34, who placed sixth in the two previous races, hopes to nail a top three finish today which had eluded him in the previous editions due to technical problems.
“Unfortunately, I had flat tires in the first two races which resulted to a sixth place finish in the men’s pro division,” said the Cebu-based, Zamboanga native. “But now I am very prepared and I am going to do my best to land in the top three,” Miller told Cebu Daily News.
Despite placing sixth in the previous runs, Miller is currently No. 3 in the overall rankings.
The champion in the men and women’s pro division will receive $10,000 US dollars each while the rest of the top 6 will pocket $2,000, $1,500, $800, $400 and $300, respectively.
Leading the standings is Australian Ben Allen followed by South African Bradley Weiss and Miller.
