Game today
Bacolod City
5 p.m.- Rain or Shine vs. Talk ‘N Text

THE ALASKA Aces regrouped from a sorry loss the last time out, venting their ire on the hapless Kia Carnivals via a 101-63 beatdown last night in the 40th PBA Governors’ Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

Bouncing back from a 102-113 loss to the NLEX Road Warriors in a game that saw them squandering a 13-point third quarter lead, the Aces forced a two-way tie at second place with the San Miguel Beermen with identical 5-2 (win-loss) records.

The Beermen were still playing the Road Warriors as of this writing.

The Aces used a balanced attack in sealing the franchise’s third most lopsided win.

Kia absorbed its worst loss in its young franchise as it dropped to 3-3, good for a two-way tie with the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters at sixth spot.
Vic Manuel led Alaska with 17 points, while import Romeo Travis finished with 14 markers and 10 rebounds

Chris Banchero and Dondon Hontiveros both scored 14 points apiece, while JVee Casio contributed 11 for Alaska.

Calvin Abueva was also effective for the Aces as he came away with 15 rebounds, eight points and six assists.

Hamady N’Diaye paced Kia with 18 points despite leaving the game at the 1:51 mark of the third after getting poked in the eye.
