He’s mature enough to challenge for a world crown.

With this possitive assessment coming from no less than ALA Promotions International CEO Michael P. Aldeguer, “King” Arthur Villanueva, the unbeaten IBF International and OPBF super flyweight champ heads to the biggest fight of his life clearly not wanting in inspiration.

Villanueva will vie for the vacant IBF world super flyweight title against unbeaten Puerto Rican southpaw McJoe Arroyo (16-0, 8KOs)       on July 18 in El Paso, Texas, USA.

Aldeguer told CDN yesterday that Villanueva’s vast fighting experience will be his biggest edge in the most crucial fight of his career.

“He already fought veteran opponents and have seen action in Dubai and Japan, so experience-wise he is very ready for a world title shot,” said Aldeguer.

However, confidence doen’t win fights and Villanueva (27-0, 14KOs) is aware of this hence the back-breaking training regimen he has undergone for the fight with Arroyo.

The 26-year old Villanueva and his trainers from the ALA Boxing Gym are set to depart for the U.S. a week before the world title bout according to Aldeguer.

Villanueva stuffed his credentials for the world title challenge with victories over former world champion Julio Cesar Miranda earlier this year in Davao city via a lopsided unanimous decision.

He also won over Nicaraguan Henry Maldonado for the IBF international super flyweight belt via a hard fought split decision victory in Dubai UAE last year and knocked out Mexican Edgar Martinez in the first round to clinch the WBO international super flyweight belt in Cebu in 2013.

Meanwhile, Aldeguer revealed that one of his immediate goals is to finally establish a fully working boxing gym in the U.S. to give his wards and other Filipino ring warriors an easier time in finding quality foreign opponents.

“We have big plans in the U.S. especially that we’re already granted a license to promote there,” Aldeguer said. “That is why we are really pushing to promote ALA boxing there and hopefully stage our first fight card the soonest time possible.”
