FORMER University of the Visayas standout Jade Becaldo stamped his class as one of the best beach volleyball players in the country as he won the King of the Sands tournament which was held over the weekend at the SM Sands by the Bay.

A former Nestea national champion as well as an ex-Philippine team member, Becaldo showcased his craftiness and grit when he teamed up with Bea Tan to defeat the duo of Alexa Micek and Hach Gilbuena, 21-14, 21-16 on Saturday night.

The team of Becaldo and Tan was the last team standing in an eight-team tournament.

They came out on top in the single round-robin elimination round before taking care of the duo of Fiola Ceballos and Jeriel Apelar in the semis.
