Tough task ahead for Team Pura

CEBU’S Team Pura will be up against some very tough odds not just from the international contingent but also from the local front who will be representing the host country in the 2015 Fiba 3×3 World Tour Manila Masters on Aug. 1 and 2 at the Robinsons Place in Manila.

Team Pura, composed of current University of San Carlos Warriors Carlo Ortega, Jair Igna and Lucky Ecarma along with Ateneo de Cebu ace Errol Pastor, earned the right to compete in the upcoming tournament after winning the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Talk ‘N Text Tatluhan National Finals last month.

But there will be two other Philippine teams battling it out in the tournament.

One will be the Manila West squad that won the Manila leg last year and went all the way to the Worlds in Japan.

That team is comprised of PBA players such as Cebuano Aldrech Ramos, high-scoring guard Terrence Romeo, Rey Guevara and Niño Canaleta.  Another will be an Eric Altamirano-manned team that has yet to name its members.

The foreign teams coming over are Beirut, Kaohsiung, Auckland, Doha, Foshan, Novisad Alwadha, Kobe and Ljubljana.
