Nearly 100 pass but still await medical exam results

By: Intern July 25,2015 - 01:03 AM

A TOTAL of 180 persons applied as factory workers in Taiwan during the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) job fair at the Cebu Provincial Capitol last Monday.

PESO spearheaded the job fair for male applicants who are 22-35 years old, college level or graduate, with or without experience.

More than half of the 180 applicants were able to pass the first exam but will still have to wait for the results of the medical examination within this month before they will be hired by Taiwan-based Showa Denko HD Trade.

PESO officer Julius Chua said those who failed in their first try may still apply in other job fairs  scheduled on Aug. 30, and on Sept. 27 in Dumanjug town, southwest Cebu.

Chua said the Aug. 30 job fair is for women aged 22-35, while the Sept. 27 job fair is for local and foreign employment and in line with the Dumanjug town fiesta.

Chua said these job fairs  are safe and reliable. “Certified nga dili siya illegal (It’s certified not illegal),” he said. He advised applicants to first check with the concerned government agencies if the participating companies are licensed and accredited. /Palompon Institute of Technology Intern Jay-Ileen Engalla
