Local app takes stress out of waiting in line
Cebu-based startup Reminisense Corp. is releasing today a cloud-based queue management application called FeatherQ.
This mobile application allows people to virtually wait in line in business establishments, giving them the freedom to do other things.
Users will be notified before their turn through text (SMS), email and push notifications. Users can also check the progress of the line through the FeatherQ website.
“It’s a better way to wait in line that doesn’t waste your time,” said marketing associate and content manager John Paolo G. Bago.
“We’re not trying to make lines disappear completely. What we are trying to do is change the perception of people. With the application, people will be able to do more with their time while waiting for their turn in a line,” he added.
The app is available for android phones via GooglePlay, but the company is developing versions for other platforms. It will be launched today via Reminisense’s Facebook page.
Reminisense is also fine-tuning several other features to be made available for both the businesses and users alike before the year ends.
FeatherQ is very easy to use and is downloadable through the website www.featherq.com. Registration and set up takes only around five minutes.
Andrei Centina, Reminisense marketing head, said businesses outside Cebu as well as international businesses can use the software because it is cloud-based.
Through the software, businesses are given an innovative, cost-effective, and technology-based option to the traditional line management systems today.
The traditional systems, which make use of physical queue numbers and require people to physically wait in the establishments, can cost up to nearly half a million pesos from setup to hardware.
Because FeatherQ is a free online software, the cost of using it is significantly less, Bago said.
The software contains layouts that registered businesses can choose from. Should the business want to fully control and customize the look of their systems, they will have to pay for a premium account.
Around 30 businesses are currently using the FeatherQ queue management software, the mobile application’s counterpart for businesses. About three-fourths are Cebu-based.
Centina said their clients include Isuzu Mandaue, Honda Cars Cebu, GrabTaxi, University of the Philippines Cebu, and Primary Care.
The Securities and Exchange Commission is waiting for head office clearance to use the software, he added.
Bago said they hope to introduce the software to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
“We are looking for businesses who are looking to scale up,” he said.
Reminisense was founded by Cebuanos Ruffy Heredia, Evanjohnn Mendoza and Wilson Ng in February last year. At present, Reminisense has 13 employees, most of them are computer developers.
