August 17,2015 - 01:46 AM

Stakeholders of Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) participated in the first blood donation campaign initiated by GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corp. (GMCAC) in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).

Thirty-one of the 56 registered blood donor applicants donated 13,950 blood units to the PRC during the event held at the MCIA Lounge 6 last Aug. 4.

Among those who participated were employees of GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corp. (GMCAC), Aviation Security Unit, Cebu Pacific Air, Cebu Pacific Catering Services, Macro Asia and Megawide GMR Construction Joint Venture.

The GMCAC-initiated blood drive is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

“It was fulfilling to see the airport community coming together to make a difference in people’s lives. We would like to continue doing community engagement with our airport stakeholders,” said Estee Marie Plunket, GMCAC corporate affairs head.

GMCAC is set to schedule another blood donation campaign before the year ends.
