No trucks will be allowed in certain roads in Cebu City during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings which starts this weekend.
Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama ordered the Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) to enforce a truck ban from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. starting on Saturday this week, Aug. 22 until September 5.
The truck ban will be implemented along Pope John Paul II Ave. (formerly Juan Luna Ave.) to Salinas Drive, Salinas Drive to Veterans Drive, and the portion of Archbishop Reyes Ave. from corner Pope John Paul II Ave. and Gorordo Ave.
The truck ban was based on the recommendation of the APEC national organizing committee.
“To effectively implement this truck ban, you are further directed to take appropriate measures to disseminate this ban for the guidance of the concerned parties and companies,” Rama told the CCTO in the memo.
