Illegal Stalls demolished

By: Melissa Q. Cabahug September 12,2015 - 01:16 AM

At least 49 stalls of ambulant vendors selling fish, fruits and vegetables in the old Mandaue City public market were demolished  Thursday afternoon.

Musoline Suliva, city market administrator, said the demolition of the illegal structures has been their plan  since last year.

Barangay captains Antonio Maquilan of Mantuyong and Ian Cortes of Centro have been  telling the vendors to vacate the old public market but they refused to heed the call.

Some vendors already encroached on the road fronting the market, disturbing traffic flow.
