PP33 excitement soars, Fil-Am fighter added to explosive card

THE excitement for October 17’s Pinoy Pride 33: Philippines Versus the World card reached fever pitch with the inclusion of Fil-Hawaiian International Boxing Association (IBA) super flyweight champion Bruno “Aloha Kid” Escalante.
The card, promoted by ALA Promotions International, will be held in Stubhub Center in Carson City, California, USA.
Escalante who traces his roots in Sibonga, Cebu will fight a still to be named foe for six rounds.
PP33 will be headlined by longest reigning Filipino world boxing champion and WBO light flyweight king, Donnie “Ahas” Nietes and some of ALA Gym’s brightest warriors.
Nietes (36-1-4, 21KOs) will defend his belt No. 8 contender Juan ‘Pinky’ Alejo(21-3, 13KOs) of Mexico.
Escalante, 26, (W13-L1-D1, 6KOs) who will be fighting in the 115lbs division, hasn’t fought since March 2014 after winning the IBA puper flyweight title against Mexican Victor Ruiz.
Also added to the stacked up fight card is Fil-American Adam Fiel (6-0 2KOs) of Vacaville, California against Michael Gaxiola (4-3) from Modesto California for six rounds under the featherweight division.
The card is co-headlined by the charismatic Pagara brothers – Jason and Albert along with Boholano Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo.
Jason (36-3, 22KOs) will fight former WBA super featherweight Interim challenger Santos Benavidez (25-7-2, 19KOs) of Nicaragua for 10-rounds while the younger “Prince” Albert  (24-0, 17KOs) will fight for the WBO Intercontinental junior featherweight title against another Nicaraguan William “Chirizo” Gonzales (27-5, 23KOs). Magsayo (11-0, 9KOs) will defend his IBF Youth featherweight title against Mexican Yardley Suarez (13-0, 8KOs).
