THE newly formed Alumni Association of the Marie Ernestine School will spearhead the “Ruby Color Run” slated the Nov. 8 at the Sumilon Road at the Cebu Business Park.

The footrace, held in line with the school’s 40th anniversary celebration, will feature five-kilometer and 3-k races as well as a 200-meter dash and 1-k pet walk.

The race will be the first of four major events that Marie Ernestine School is planning to hold this year including its grand alumni homecoming on December.

The alumni association has just been formed and its members are looking forward to the upcoming race.

“I will never forget Marie Ernestine School. It is the grassroots of my personality and as the Vice President of the alumni association, I am very willing to help the school and we are very excited to make this running event happen,” said Eric Cababan.

Cababan, school director Marie Ernestine Denise Fajatine-Pegarido and race director Bobot Ramos spearheaded the race’s launching yesterday at the third level of the Paramount Equity Ventures building.

“We are inviting not just the students and the members of the alumni association but also the parents, the faculty and regular runners to join the event,” said Fajatine-Pegarido.

Organizers are expecting around a thousand runners to join.

Ramos said there will be three color stations along the route. Food and beverages will also be available after the run.

Registration fee is pegged at P450 for Marie Ernestine School students while P460 for the parents, guardians and regular runners.

Registration will start on Oct. 25 and will last until Nov. 7.

Registration sites will be at the Active Zone of Ayala Center-Cebu and Marie Ernestine School. Registration can also be made at Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) starting today until Oct. 16.
