Mandaue LP bets file candidacies

OVER a hundred supporters of the Liberal Party-Mandaue City chapter clad in yellow flocked to the Mandaue City Sports Complex to cheer on their bets who filed their certificates of candidacies early today.

Rep. Luigi Quisumbing of Cebu’s 6th district confirmed his run for Mandaue City’s mayoral seat with running mate Carlo Fortuna and ten councilors.

The LP lineup includes incumbent councilors Jun Cortes, Nene Layese and Tony Dabon. Other candidates are lawyer Olin Seno, Cynthia Remedio, Jun del Mar, Kevin Cabahug, Marvin Soco, Dodong Abana and Leo Jabas.

Incumbènt Mayor Jonas Cortes, who showed up to express his support, said he will file his candidacy at the provincial office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Meanwhile, about 10 people assembled in front of Mandaue City Hall bearing placards with the message “Kusog Mo-demolish” aimed at Mayor Cortes.
