Originals, CY All-Star start strong in 2nd Randall Cup
TEAM Original of Christopher Rey “Toper” Caruana and team CY All-Star of Manny “Earl” Ching defeated their respective foes at the start of the Homeboys Basketball 2nd Randall Cup 2015 at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) lower court, last Saturday.
The Originals scored some measure of revenge after they prevailed over Team Lumad, 66-60, in a rematch of last year’s finals.
New recruit Jake Diamante led Team Originals with 14 markers, while JR Umbay added 11, including a critical three-pointer in the dying seconds.

The come-backing Zoel Cellan paced Team Lumad with 16 markers, while Carlo Salinas chipped in 15.
Team CY All-Star, on the other hand, chalked up a 78-55 win over Inno X with Gil dela Cerna leading the way with 14 points.
Wilfred Boyles topped Inno X with 17 markers.
The tournament is held in memory of league founder Randall Joseph Prado. It will follow a single round-robin format in the elimination round.
The top four teams will advance to the knockout semifinals with the survivors moving to the championship round.
