POLICE arrested a man who allegedly tried to encash a check he stole from another man who fell asleep while watching over his wife inside a ward room in Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City last Thursday.

Chief Insp. David Señor said the 32-year-old suspect Albert Tumagna stole a check worth P13,600, two IPhones worth P20,000 each, several credit and ID cards and P6,500 cash from Eugene Abella.

Abella immediately called the bank asking them to alert him when someone would try to encash the P13,600 check.

Señor said the suspect had a record of theft cases in at least three hospitals in Cebu City.
